Goodbyes seem to have been the common theme of my life in this past year. I have left a job I LOVED and was so blessed to have had; my home for the past 8 years in Rome and the community of families, friends, and loved ones there; and my family I continue to grow closer with even though distance separates us. I have said goodbye to the relationship I shared with my sister as she has followed God's lead into a marriage with an incredible young man; goodbye to the relationship I shared with my grandmothers. And now, as I say goodbye to the new community of Camp Staff God used to touch my life in powerful ways this summer, I am reminded that in every 'goodbye,' there is a new 'hello.' Whether in death or in the end of a beautiful season of life, in Christ, there is the hope of something new to welcome! I have said hello to a new brother, a new community of believers, a new home with new opportunities to love and be loved. He provides...in a new community, a new 'family,' a new heaven / new earth. In Him we can say "Hello."
